South Bank Christmas Village – Start the School Holidays with Yuletide Glee

It’s that time of the view again, the kids are on their Christmas break, the sun is shining and you are looking for a fun way to spend the day together as a family.

Let your festive season be merry and bright at South Bank’s Christmas Village! Held in the South Bank Parklands from 15-23 December, the Village features free yuletide glee to suit all ages.

Gift Market

From 3pm – 10pm, procure beautiful and unique wares at the Gift Market, which offers toys, homewares, fashion, jewellery, stationery and foodstuffs. LifeFlight Foundation will be wrapping gifts for a gold coin donation from 15 – 23 December in the Gift Market from 3pm – 10pm daily.

Village Beats and Carols by Twilight

Listen to soulful live music at Village Beat at the Arbour View Café Lawns for half-hour sessions at 4.15pm, 5.45pm and 7.15pm. There is also the opportunity to sing-a-long at Carols by Twilight at River Quay with half-hour sessions taking place at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. Performers will change each evening, the program includes The Salvation Army Brisbane City Temple, Hillsong, Voices of Birralee, Queensland Show Choir, In the Mood Four, Diva Productions Australia, Ensemble Diaspora with Brisbane City Sounds Choir, Australian Girls Choir and Starz Production Team.

Village Train

On the promenade near The Wheel of Brisbane; take the little ones for a trackless train ride on the Xpress Fun Train (note: fees apply for this activity) and enjoy vibrant street-performers.

Holly Jolly Kids

Kids will revel in free craft and dance activities, plus a visit from Santa in Stanley Street Plaza. The free kid’s activities will be open from 3-7pm daily, while Santa is onsite from 4-8pm daily. Head to the Little Days Out program page for the schedule of activities.

Beach Cinema

As the sun settles for the day, stake your place on Streets Beach and snuggle-up to your favourite Christmas films – the complete timetable is below and bookings are not required:
